Strength

Hello Everyone!

I am still floating in and out of the hospital and taking my mother back and forth. It’s Monday and I don’t even have a Catch-Up Monday post for you all.  Maybe later today when I return home.

I just read this quote and thought I would share it with you all.

“The worst thing about being strong is that no one ever asks if you’re OK”

How many of you can relate to this quote?

AMEN SISTER—- YOU & YOUR FAMILY ARE IN MY PRAYERS!!!!! SENDING LOVE!!!!!!!!!

    • Thank you Sonda. Today was especially hard because most of my morning was spent in dad’s room. My sister arrived and I left early and brought mom home. I guess having a stomach issue yesterday was a Godsend because it forced me to stay home and avoid a day of exposures. Thank you so much my friend for your love and prayers.

  2. I can totally relate to that quote! That is something that really makes this battle worse is the isolation on so many levels. Glad you are surviving the onslaught so far! The stress coupled with the exposures in hospital must be tough. It is a heroic undertaking to assist your family through this crisis! The heroism is unnoticed and unrealized by most, except perhaps God who sees and knows all. Hang in there, sending all my love and prayers.

    • Thank you so much. My mother and sister do understand the risks I am taking by going in and out of the hospital. I am taking mom late tomorrow morning and then staying for a bit. I will leave mom and my sister will show up after work and visit with dad and bring mom home.

  3. You and your family come first. Take care of yourself so you have the energy to take care of your family.

    • MCS gal, I am doing my best. It is a hard time because dad is still pretty much out of it and in ICU. I guess the only positive thing is that he is the only one in the room and only has one nurse checking on him. I have a photo of the sign outside of the entrance to ICU. As soon as I am able to put it all together, I will post it.

      • It is so hard when you worry about someone you love. It is exhausting to be in a hospital (whether a patient or a visitor) and I’m sure it is even harder for you because of the environmental issues. Take care.

  4. I totally relate to that quote. I have always been expected to be the responsible one and the strong one both in my family and at work even with my friends growing up. People didn’t like it if I did the leaning or had the meltdown. I guess that was the gift of MCS — I physically had to put myself first. And very few people asked if I was okay.

Are you okay? Are you making sure to get the rest and time away from exposures that you need? I’ll keep praying for you and yours.

    • Colleen. I am okay, or as okay as I can be under the circumstances. I am trying to keep a normal sleep routine which is helping and usually try and spend as much time outside of dad’s room in the outdoor areas as possible. Unfortunately today was a day that I needed to stay in his room most of the time I was there. Thank you for asking and your prayers.

  5. I was THE nurse for so many years, no one knows what to do with me as THE patient.
