Being a friend to a friend who’s sick.

Jennie Sherwin posted about an article from today’s  New York Times.  The article talks about saying less and doing more when talking to a friend who is sick.  Letty Cottin Pogrebin’s new book, How To Be A Friend To A Friend Who Is Sick,  may be something we all should read.  Some of her advice:  As Ms. Pogrebin notes, greeting someone with the seemingly innocent question “How are you?” can prompt all kinds of unwelcome thoughts. Better, she advises, is a simple “It is good to see you.” For sure, you should not ask “How are you really?” If you are close enough to merit that information, it will come to you.

I am going to be adding this book to my Amazon Wish List.
